About me

Woman with long dark hair smiling outdoors in striped shirt.

Greetings!

I’ve been working in the field of mental health since 2018 and have worked in a variety of settings, including community-based organizations, inpatient hospitals/PHP/IOP, and my current private practice that I started in 2023. This is a second career for me. Throughout my years as a therapist, I’ve observed how my previous experiences (as a photographer and long-time service industry member) contribute to how I connect with people. I came into this field as an artist - I learned of Art Therapy and I haven't looked back.

While the principles in behavioral therapy, such as ACT, CBT, ERP, and DBT are invaluable, I'm also interested in alternative methods for healing such as art and yoga, including the capacity for creativity, the mind-body connection, and physiological symptoms of stress and anxiety. I completed a Yoga Teacher Training in early 2025 to facilitate a better understanding of how to "befriend" the body for those of us who feel lost and disconnected. My approach is holistic and I provide a compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgmental perspective while working to understand how societal expectations can contribute to distress. In my practice, I value curiosity, transparency, humor, and validation to support in identifying barriers, naming emotions, tolerating distress, and moving toward the life you want to be living.

Art Therapy

While I can provide art therapy, it is not required to work with me.

"Art therapy is a mental health profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making, creative process, applied psychological theory, and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship."

-American Art Therapy Association
